Whilst managing the Uptown Line, Roy became associated with Kevin Lane who was resident DJ at the newly opened Majestic Club on Deansgate, Manchester . As a result they became responsible for booking the groups for the Majestic.
The agency developed representing The Rumble Fat Band and The Phoenix City Smash. A significant event was having both bands on the same bill at the prestigious New Century Hall on a Saturday night, (usually featuring the current chart topper of the time).
RDSA also arranged the UK tour of a top Irish folk group of the time, The Go Lucky Four, who had a No 1 in Ireland with "Up Went Nelson".
Roy also promoted a number of disco's in conjunction with DJ Kenny Edmunds, including Handforth Civic Hall and Worsley Court House. A weekly folk club in a Cheshire pub was another activity.
As a result of providing support groups to Kennedy Street Artistes, Roy established a working relationship with Barry Perkins.
When Barry left Kennedy Street to set up his own agency - Barry Perkins Organisation - he invited Roy to join him.
When Barry moved away from the area Roy went to work for Mecca . He was then approached by Pleasurama to manage the Raith Ballroom in Kirkaldy, Fife , which at the time was reputed to be the largest ballroom in Scotland .
After returning to England Roy worked for a publicity company specialising in the entertainment sector for 5 years, before moving out of the industry.
