This would be a little after the sixties, but I have fond memories of Alberto y los trios paranoias. G8 humour - like a guy would be playing hendrix style guitar, really going for it, screams and dive bombs - the lot. About 5 mins into the set a curtain would fall, revealing the real guitarist (the other guy was expertly miming) to his fake outrage!

As I recall it was Jimmy Hibbert, C P Lee, Chris Gill, Bruce Mitchell (still a very fine muso with Duruty Column) and sometimes John Scott & Tony Roberts - all still in & around the Manc area.
