Kirk Daniels and the Deltas were formed in 1960 by Kirk Daniels on lead vocals (b. Harry Morris), Tommy Turner on lead guitar (b. Thomas Turner), John Murphy on rhythm guitar, Eric Haydock on bass (b. Tuesday, February, 3, 1942, Burnley, Lancashire, UK) and Don Rathbone on drums (b. Donald Rathbone, October 1942, Wilmslow, Cheshire, UK).
Some Kirk Daniels and the Deltas concerts:
Monday, September 17, 1962: The Bodega, Manchester, Lancashire, UK, with Ricky and Dane Young, Fred and the Flintstone Five
John H. Warburg
Apparently, K.D.& The Deltas did a spot in normal stagegear and another as The Flintstones wearing cavemen outfits and few of the audience realised it was the same group!

I saw Kirk Daniels and the Deltas at Stockport Town Hall a couple of times around 1961/2. At the time they were billed as "Kirk Daniels and the Deltas, featuring Ricky and Dane Young". They were terrific!
Ricky and Dane Young were actually Alan Clark and Graham Nash who went on to form the Hollies.
The whole band were good but they were stars in the making. John Murphy was the best guitarist I had ever seen at the time, with the possible exception of Pete Cowap of the Country Gents.
Kirk Daniels (Harry Morris) passed away on the 5th October 2007 after a long illness. Sadly missed by all who knew him, music was always his first love.
