'The Deltones' were formed in the early 60s and played most of the large clubs in the Manchester, Liverpool and Sheffield areas supporting such chart bands as The Beatles, The Hollies, The Swinging Blue Jeans, Wayne Fontana & The Mindbenders etc.

Later in the sixties the band turned professional and become more commonly known as 'The Mixture'. They then toured Europe supporting such bands as Eric Clapton and Cream, Status Quo etc. A record contract with Parlophone was secured shortly after their return and The Mixture experienced Chart, TV & Radio success with a number written by Mike D'Arbo of Manfred Mann, recorded at the famous Abbey Road Studios.

After a brief lay-off of 14 years brothers Paul & Rodger of the 60s band got the bug again and reformed under their original name of The Deltones. This time the band includes Gary & Chris formally from 'Subway', who during the 80's toured major club venues in the UK. Gary formed Subway straight from school, whilst Chris was a session musician in London during the 60s and early 70s with Leo Sayer and Peter Green from Fleetwood Mac. Chris joined Gary in 1979. The fifth member who has only recently joined The Deltones is Tony. His many years of experience drumming with various bands in the North West brings flare, drive and added punch to complement the group's authentic sound.
In 2004 Chris retired from The Deltones and they are now continuing to gig as a four piece outfit.

Memories How well I remember Paul and Rodger Mycock. They sang like the Everly Bros and played superbly. I was the lead singer with what became The Mixture, before that I was vocalist with Bobby and the Blue Diamonds. Hope they are well. Bob Harrison 26/2/09 At long last got to see the Deltones after many years gap. They were great and I have to say that the harmonies of the Mycock brothers are as good as ever. I think they were called Julia and Sue . My sister followed you everywhere and bought the record you made . Playing it hundreds of times driving us all mad . My husband and I would love to come and see you . Whenever you are playing next .bring back some very happy memories I have of my sister. Linda Byrne 7/1/12 Went to listen to the Deltones at Poyton club last night, what a good night, the boys rocked and rolled and so did the club members of whom the average age was 70, everyone sang along, a good night was had by all.
