Laura Griffiths

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could/would help me.

I'm writing my dissertation this year, and am doing a creative writing piece specifically on Manchester in the early 60s.

The plot of said piece is still in to works, but I would be eternally grateful to anyone who would be happy to provide me with first person accounts of the social scene of Manchester at this time.

If anyone is interested in helping out a struggling student, please please email me at laura.griffiths@live.co.uk. Anecdotes, memories, and even simple descriptions of the goings on would be fantastic.

I can't promise I can pay you (student = very poor!) but there will definitely be a bottle of something nice for anyone who could answer some questions/provide some inspiration to my work in progress!

Hoping to hear from as many people as possible!

Kind regards,

Laura.

Hi, my Dad (David Hughes) from Salford, played guitar in various bands a lot from late 50's through to mid 60's. he was in a band called 'The Highspots'. Does anyone remember them. i think at one time they had a singer called Jerry deRosa?? Also a good friend and bass player in the band was a guy called Pete Harwood. My Dad's not with us any more but I would be interested if anyone had any info.
Cheers

simon.
