Hey Rabeeto

I was the singer in the band
and came up with the name.
I remember us playing at Bernard Mannings club one time and I think Brian broke a string; anyway, while he was changing it Bernard came on and roundly insulted us, much to everyones amusement !

i am trying to find information about Johnny Dean and the Planets, my uncle Brian Thorpe was rythym player for about nine months in 1963/64.
The first band he was in was called Steve Ray and the Astrons? which disbanded and went on to form Black Cat Bones.
He used to be associated with Stackwaddy and said Mick Stott utilised feedback before Jimmy Hendrix.
Mark Stone made some recordings with Brian in the 1980`s
Brian Thorpe was a talented musician and made instruments does anyone remember him.

Just a bit of a non-music memory! Been watching '32 Brinkburn Street' all week on bbc.1 and what a surprise to find it was filmed on Fairfield Square in Droylsden! I used to go to Fairfield High in the late 50's AND had a real crush on Nidge Thomas out of the Factotums, as he lived on the Square and went to Audenshaw Grammar, but think it was his mate Andy who liked me, so a non-starter! It brought back memories of sneaking out of school, running up the square to go to the 'tuck' shop on the main road, but cannot remember the road name - Dundee biscuits never tasted so good. Was living in Denton at the time, then moved to Bradford in Manchester and later to Dukinfield. Believe 'Sophie' in corrie lives in Denton and went to Fairfield High, hope she had as much fun in her real life, as I did! How tragic to read Nidge Thomas had died in his 30's! The Square didn't look to have changed at all, just wondering if it was stilled 'cobbled' or was it just for the drama, it actually looked bigger than I remembered it! Lovely memories, thanks bbc.1
