Hi there! Just found this site.
I used to love the Harbour Lights version of 'Run For Your Life'.Last night, I thought I was going to hear it again for the cfirst time in ages on Radio Kent, we left the radio on after the folk show and the record came on only to go off again! Its a show with two people called Bill and Angela Rennells and it keeps happening, they put a record on and it goess off and then they say have played a song and they have done no such thing! I dont think there is really anyone there at all. It reminded me of the band though, and I am glad there is a site about them. I did not have enough info when I first heard them on the old pirate station Radio London.
My daughter was quite keen on hearing the song as she has not heard this version and liked the sound of it, but off it went! We are interested to know if we can buy any of the bands records now. All the best, take care! Mary.

Re notice of the passing of one of the North Wests finest skin/stick men, Alan Forbes.

I had the pleasure of seeing Alan learning to play drums. I was a founder member, with Alan, of the Vortex Five and Brian Winchester & The Confederates, later to become Bobby Laine & The Confederates.

Alan went on to greater things with other Manchester based groups including Harbour Lights and Cheshire Plains.

I can visualise now Alan, the star drummer up high.

Rest in peace Alan, you were a good friend and I'll miss the reminiscing we'd only recently got moving.

Condolences from me personally and all my familiy.

Val Fletcher (Parkinson as was)

Found your wonderful website while looking for Mervs Bardots. I was engaged to Alan (Twig) back in the sixties. We all met up again on the 17th November for the occasion of Tony's(Best)wife Carol's birthday. It was so wonderful to see them all again (Not Dec Foley obviously)but Bubble, who now lives in Boston,(Lincs that is) Merv who came all the way from Anglesey, (Who by the way has a website if anyone is interested). Twig, Tony Heath and last but not least the roadie Tony Valente. It was a wonderful evening and nice to see them all after over forty years. I am still in touch with them all and we promised to meet up again, but not to leave it another 40 years. It really brought back a lot of memories of the sixties and the good times that we had, and all the gigs we went to. I remember going to all of them that were listed. I particularly have fond memories of the Top Twenty Droylsden and Beat City. We went straight from one to the other for the all nighter.I enjoyed Dave Eagers contribution to the song title list, sums me up in one. I knew Dave from the Top Twenty, and Ray Territ from there and Beat City.
