Paul Stevens

Winning the talent quest at Butlins, singing with Rory Storm and the Hurricanes, with Ringo Starr playing drums for him,was my initial break followed by a move to Australia and success there with records and TV made him a much stronger all round cabaret entetainer.

Fronting the Javelins and The Emprerors of Rhythm, Paul then joined Belfast recording group The Banshees.  After making his first record with them , he joined Australian recording group The Gibsons and released two records on Deram and was featured in juke Box Jury.

His first hit record was Magic Book (Deram) which reached No 16 in the charts.

Paul regards his best job was being chosen to be the original compere of the Sheffield Fiesta and meeting and working with two of his all time favourite singers, namely Levi Stubbs of the Four Tops and Carl Wilson of the Beach Boys ,who both came inthe club early every night just to hear him sing!

Paul regards representing England in the Golden Orpheus Song Festival in Bulgaria (and winning), and working with and meeting Roy Orbison as high on his list of achievements in Showbiz.
