Reece's Ballroom, Liverpool
Parker and Leigh Street

Situated in the heart of the Liverpool, Reece's was a multi-floor restaurant.

The first-floor cafeteria converted into a dance hall at weekends (perhaps more regularly in the early sixties).

Negative aspect was getting the gear in the small lift.

The place is regarded as a Beatles historic site because it was the location for John and Cynthia's wedding breakfast. The place wasn't licensed to sell alcohol then so guests toasted them with water.

Steve Rostron says...
This place was where The Spinners Folk club met each Thursday night during the late 1950s and early 1960s. The Spinners were the most popular folk group of the era: probably throughout Britain.
