The Cabin Club

I was resident Vocalist and Compare for over 9 years at the famouse Cabin Club, have some wonderful memories any one out there remember me or worked with me.

I was also a Double act with my partner Jerry Derosa and sang with most of the big bands of the day, I now live in The Isle Of Man and have for over 35 years I still record and do the od gig, this is a great site to help find any old friends.

In the mid 60's I worked as a DJ at Mr Smiths and there I met an American girl called Sandi Pizuti who was the step daughter of "The Captain" John Howard who owned the Cabin. Sandi and I were briefly engaged and I was privileged to be given an honary membership of the club.

I well remember meeting Matt Busby and his wife along with many others. Sandi went back to America and I last saw her in I think 1991 when she came back following the sad death of her mother Mildred.

Does anyone remember my mother who attended and I believe sang at The Cabin Club in the 1950's and 60's? Her stage name was Joy Lee (real name Joyce Procter/Howarth)

Cabin Cub? in a cellar, suit of armour on the stairs?

If this is the place, one wonderful evening a group of students from Manchester Uni. Came in to sing carols.

A short rotund gentleman left his seat, walked over to the bar, ordered eight pints of beer and then served the students himself. He then joined them in singing in a beautiful welsh tenor voice. It was the first and only time I saw Harry Seacombe live.
