Stephen Barber
Frank Bell was a boxer who knocked out the great Freddie Mills in the late 1950`s
He went on to become a School Teacher at Wellington Road Boys School near Altrincham.

He started to be involved with Teenager`s Rock Music, and started the `Young Ones Rock Club`
firstly at Timperley Labour Club at Grange Road. He then progressed on to Stamford Hall in Altrincham.

Some of the Groups that he brought in were awesome for a small backwater town like this.

We saw the Hollies,Freddie & the Dreamers,Billy J Kramer,Gerry and The Pacemakers,Screaming Lord Sutch,
Shane Fenton. Johnny & the Semitones where often used as the Warm up Band. Frank`s wife I think had a soft spot for the Hollies and predicted in 1963 that they would be bigger than the Beatles one day.

In the recent past I Googled Frank and he is still alive and living in or near Lancaster.

He was a gentle giant of a man with a heart of gold. A duff teacher but he got by. A lovely man.
