Discography
Johnny Peters and the Crestas - "Its Only Make Believe" (Unreleased)
There is a story behind Johnny's recording of 'It's Only Make Belief'.
Johnny recorded the song with Joe Meek at Joe's studio in Holloway Road. On leaving the studio with Joe they met up with Larry Parnes walking towards them. Larry told Joe that his 'boy', Billy Fury had just recorded the same 'It's Only Make Belief'. Joe always believed that his studio was bugged by spies whereupon there was a serious punch-up in the street.
Johnny also recorded a version of the Buddy Holly song 'Don't Cry On My Shoulder (When You Ask About Love) with Andrew Loog Oldham, with a Phil Spector treatment. Johnny's agency did not promote the record - there was some problem about unpaid commission - and the recording failed to chart.

My question is does anyone know what the childrens programme could be to assist further research?
The rest of the tape dates it at around April / May 1964, as always I'm happy to pop the recording onto youtube if there's any interest.
