Lee Paul and The Electrons/The Boys
After Deke Bonner and The Tremors split up in 1962 guitarist Len Dyson went on to form Lee Paul and The Boys with Les Hall on rhythm guitar, Pete Kay on bass and Dave Hill on drums. New frontman and lead singer was Len Moseley, who took the stage name of Lee Paul.
The group won a big following in the Manchester area, and they were soon in demand all over the country.
Middleton itself was also quite an active scene at the time, and they played clubs such as Bernard Manning's Embassy Club, The Lands End Working Men's Club at Rhodes, Hebers WMC, Boarshaw WMC and Langley Labour Club. At The Co-op Hall they one time shared the billing with recording star Shane Fenton and The Fentones, and also worked alongside up and coming artists from Manchester at the time such as Wayne Fontana and The Jets and The Hollies.
Lee Paul, Les Hall and Dave Hill later found success in Germany in the years 1964-66 with a new group called The Wheels. In between Lee Paul & The Boys and The Wheels, Dave Hill and Pete Kay had also formed The Rainmakers, with Alan Doyle on lead guitar and Deke Bonner from The Tremors as lead singer.
