A Stockport/ Cheadle Hulme band I played in around 1960 was Jeff High and the Highjacks. Started in the El Rio, Macclesfield as a resident band, played the Manchester clubs such as College Club, Embassy, Palladium Club, Empress Club (later Poco a Poco, Stockport) and others all now defunct. Band morphed into Jeff Manton and the Delray Quartet around 1961. Even got a mentions in the Stage and Radio in the club column.
