Photographers and Promotional pictures

One part of the 60s seen that I don’t think has ever been mentioned on Manchester Beat was the photographers that used to shoot all the acts back in the day. One such one was Eric I can’t remember his last name who used his name backwards to spell which then formed his Company name of Cire, based in Bridge Street Manchester his studio was literally next door to George Best,s Boutique but upstairs.

He was brilliant and did all my shots for Strange Brew and he was highly regarded as the best around in the day.

Then a young man like all of us with lots of flare and artistic enthusiasm, So many acts used his services from the unknown to top of the bill artists, and I do mean big names. A lot of the agents also used him to promote their artists. Most times when you were appearing at a venue on the notice board would be glossy black and white photos of the acts who were either appearing or coming soon all with his signature logo on the bottom right hand side of the photograph.

He was a great guy and a truly amazing photographer.
