Karl's Marals

Line-up

  • Brian Gilbert - vocals
  • Roy Mozley - guitar
  • Ray Adams - drums
  • Bob Cartwright - bass
  • Ray Summers - guitar

Sadly Brian Gilbert is no longer with us - he was also the vocalist in Karl & the Vampires. When Roy Mozley left the Karls Marals the group decided to split up.

We were very successful supporting The Hollies, the Fourpennies, the Ivy League and a lot more.

Our drummer Ray adams was approached by an agent Bob Rudkin and asked Ray to form a cabaret group so he got in touch with bob the bass and Ray summers lead guitar.Bob rudkin brought in Ray winstanley vocals and Ken griffiths guitar. We played all the top clubs, talk of the north, poco poco, gainsborough, riverboatclub to name a few. We reached the final of the Sunday People's Talent Show at Butlins holiday camp. We also did a short tour with Bunny Lewis and his Cinderella show.

Ray Adams - 24/3/2018

Karl's Marals- our heroes! We used to follow the band round various youth clubs and even as far as Altrincham ice rink I remember! We were just starting out and spotting how varoius tunes were played. They had THE BEST version of Louie Louie! Think they played Sweet Mary Blues (Cyril Davies tune) too. Think it was Shawe Hall youth club where we collared Karl in the gents and asked him about lines in Bye Bye Johnny and he explained them whilst casually taking a leak . How Cool!
