There was a band called Les Bluesettes who I backed as resident drummer at the Yew Tree Arms Hotel Wythenshawe when I was just 15 in 1967.

I was asked to join the band but then I went to France to join Big Wheel so my brother Steve Henshaw (who later joined Shane Fenton and the Fentones) joined them. Shane later became Alvin Stardust and the Green Cross Man of Road Safety.

I was the rhythm guitar player and vocalalist with LesBlusettes other band members were Carol Wallwork and Elizabeth Oldfield vocals, John Hampson lead guitar Bill Conway on vibes and Steve Henshaw on drums - will send photos soon.

Prior to that I played with the Melodybeats and started out with the Astrals from the Urmston area who became the Teddybears. Will try to find accurate information before I post as its been a long time since those wonderful days in Manchester. Hope this helps.
