Mersey View Dance Hall (Frodsham)

"Mersey View" Dance Hall in Frodsham was a well frequented venue.

I was present when The Beatles played there in April 1963 and rumour has it that the song Helter Skelter was inspired by an old wooden helter skelter that operated adjacent to the Mersey View Dance Hall (I got splinters in my rear from it's wooden slide when I was a young kid).

I believe that there is still a show lounge at this location albeit rebuilt I am sure.

Grew up there.But it was fascinating to learn The Beatles actually played there before their hey day obviously.Its correct there was a helter skelter,it was always locked up with chains  and shut when as a kid i remembered in the 70s and it did just seems obvious to me that great song was from that visit as it was called Frodsham pleasure grounds when the Helter Skelter would have been in use.

I got all four Beatles' autographs on the back of the ticket for that performance.
I still remember going there as a youngster and going down the Helter Skelter.
