Sloopy's (Manchester)
Sloopy was at 45-47 Lloyd Street off Albert Square, Manchester 2 and opened in October 1967.
Sloopy had been called The Oasis Club which opened on Saturday, November 4, 1961 with Dick Charlesworth and his City Gents with Jackie Lynn. Before that it was called The 2J's Jazz Club which had opened on Friday, July 15, 1960 with Jazz drummer Ray Ellington (1916 - 1985) supported by Dave Wilson and his Dixieland Band.
The D.J. at Sloopy's was Daffy Don Howard (b. Donald Howard), who was a floor manager at Granada TV.
It was later called Ye Father's Moustache and Reubens.
